CANU 14:25 3 The DBX1 BLUK needle (needle system 287 WH) has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 14, 16, 17, 31), Juki (classes ACF, ADU, AEC, AFU) and Brother (classes B 746 -5A, B 746 -7A, B 746 -8A, BAS).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

This version has a BLUKOLD coating: a roughened, phosphated surface with a subsequent Teflon coating, on which melt residue settles much later than on chrome-plated needles. It is especially suited to synthetic materials and materials with a high synthetic-fibre content.

NEEDLEPOINT:	R/SET - Round tip normal Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used. Applications: - Lightweight fabric - Coated materials; heavy woven materials such as Tarpaulins - Laminated materials with soft plastic or thin cardboard (cardboard) - Foils - Leather/Textile combinations
COATING:	BLUKOLD (BLUK) Special needle with a roughened, phosphated surface and subsequent Teflon coating. Melt residue does not settle on this coating, or only much later than on e.g. chrome-plated needles. The needle stays clean longer – skipped stitches and thread breakage are minimized. Applications: - Synthetic materials - Materials with a high synthetic content - Materials with special finishes Use: Before using the needle on light-coloured materials, sew a test seam of approx. 50 cm so that the slight Teflon abrasion does not affect the quality of the finished product. Colour changes on the needle during use have no effect on its function or usability.
