The DBX1 NIT needle (needle system 287 WH) has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 14, 16, 17, 31), Juki (classes ACF, ADU, AEC, AFU) and Brother (classes B 746 -5A, B 746 -7A, B 746 -8A, BAS).
Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for medium-weight standard woven and knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).
This needle also has a nickel-Teflon (NIT) coating: a special anti-adhesive coating with excellent sliding properties, high abrasion resistance and high corrosion resistance.
