The 2000 A/.. needle has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial sewing machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Juki (classes FBS) and AMF-Reece (classes 84). Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used. Applications: - Lightweight fabric - Coated materials; heavy woven materials such as Tarpaulins - Laminated materials with soft plastic or thin cardboard (cardboard) - Foils - Leather/Textile combinations
Until the end of 2020, the nickel-plated needle was the standard for household sewing machines. Since then, Schmetz has been gradually converting production to "chrome-plated", as has been standard for industrial needles for decades.
The so-called double pointed needles are used on special machines made by AMF in order hand stitches to sew by machine.More information: http://www.amfreece.com/d364-deco-2000.html
