The round-shank leather needle is suitable both for many industrial high-speed machines and for certain older household sewing machines.
As the name suggests, this needle's shank is not flattened like most household machine needles, but round. The round shank also has a noticeably smaller diameter in comparison.
The round-shank leather needle has a chrome coating, as is otherwise common on industrial needles, giving it slower wear and an especially long service life.
The DBxF2 Leather has a cutting point, the right-cutting leather point LR. This cuts easily through leather, hard imitation leather and similar materials. The resulting seam consists of slightly slanted stitches that create a decorative visual effect.
This leather needle is not suitable for textiles, since it cuts through woven or knitted threads on entry and so causes holes. The round-shank leather needle DBxF2 LEATHER is only suitable for industrial sewing machines or older household sewing machines whose instruction manual specifies needle system DBxF2, 287 WH, 1738, DBx1, SY 2270, 16x251 or 16x231.
