Standard flat-shank needle for household sewing machines with needle system 130/705 H, with a half-triangular point (cutting point) for leather and film.
Thanks to its cutting action, the half-triangular point (DH) makes it easier to pierce leather and similar homogeneous materials. It also produces a straight stitch line, giving the seam an especially accurate, clean look.
Caution
Because of their cutting action, leather needles are NOT suitable for textiles, as they can cut through woven or knit threads while sewing.
Tips
Choose a longer stitch length to prevent the seam from tearing out.
When backtacking, make sure the sewing thread is not cut through.
On soft imitation leather, the DH leather needle is only of limited use: try the Microtex needle first, as the backing material might otherwise be damaged and holes may tear more easily.
