Description
Reviews

CANU 14:25AX1 The DBX1 LR needle (needle system 287 WH) has a right cutting point (45°) for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 14, 16, 17, 31), Juki (classes ACF, ADU, AEC, AFU) and Brother (classes B 746 -5A, B 746 -7A, B 746 -8A, BAS).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for thinner to medium-weight leather, and the thicker versions for very thick, firm leather and multi-layer leather joins. As sewing thread, a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is usually recommended, in a thickness matching the needle size chosen. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.

SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 14:25 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLE FAMILY:	Sewing machine needles with cutting tips
NEEDLEPOINT:	LR/LRS/NRTW - Cutting point right cutting 45° Cutting point with a lenticular incision. The incision is made at a 45 ° angle to the direction of the seam. Result: Decorative seam slightly inclined to the left Materials: Suitable for all types of leather Applications: - Clothing - Shoe manufacture - bags, suitcases Highlight: Best needle for decorative seams.
COATING:	CHROME Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
MATERIAL TYPE:	LEATHER, TARPS & FOILS Leather, imitation leather, tarps and foils are closed textiles that have to be ""pierced"" for sewing. This is why needles with cutting tips are usually used for this. Cutting tips penetrate the material much more easily than displacement tips and thus counteract resistance and heating. Cutting points should never be used on woven and knitted fabrics, otherwise the threads can be cut, causing holes.
STITCH TYPE:	Lockstitch
