The 134 KK PCL needle (needle system 134 KK) has a pearl point for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. The KK version has a short shank. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Dürkopp Adler (classes 067, 167, 211, 219), Pfaff (classes 153, 173, 467, 483) and Rimoldi (classes 053, 054, 053 - 00- 06, 054 ALL CLASSES).
In size NM:80/SIZE:12, this version is especially well suited to thinner to medium-weight leather. A sewing thread in the range Nm 80/2 to Nm 50/2 is usually suitable; a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is recommended. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.
