The 134 S FLG-A needle (needle system 134) has a spade point for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Pfaff (classes 1243, 2081-748/…, 2083, 2083-748/…), Juki (classes DDL-5550N, DDL-5550N-7, DDL-5550NA, DDL-5550NA-7) and Singer (classes 107-W1, 107-W10, 107-W100, 107-W102).
In size NM:80/SIZE:12, this version is especially well suited to thinner to medium-weight leather. A sewing thread in the range Nm 80/2 to Nm 50/2 is usually suitable; a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is recommended. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.
