The 1669 E EO needle (needle system 1669 E) has an eccentric round point (tip above the eye) for working woven and knit fabrics. This is a curved needle: it penetrates only the surface of the material and stays invisible on the right side of the fabric – the standard design for overlock, blind-stitch and linking (kettling) machines. This version's narrow eye (EO) provides greater loop security. It is used in industrial chain-stitch special-purpose machines with a curved needle, among others for overlock, blind-stitch and linking (kettling) work. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at J. Strobel & Söhne (classes 45, 58, 70, 103), Strobel (classes 103 ALL CLASSES, 105 - 223, 123 - 10 ALL CLASSES, 143 ALL CLASSES) and Adamson (classes 50, 60, 100, 100 ALL CLASSES).
In size NM:60/SIZE:8, this version is especially well suited to light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics. A sewing thread in the range Nm 120/2 to Nm 80/2 (fine) is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).
