The 332 LR needle (needle system 332) has a right cutting point (45°) for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Juki (classes LK, LU, LUH, LK - 1850 G), Pfaff (classes 3125, 3126, 3135, 3136) and Singer (classes 11263, 11, 16, 22).
In size NM:130/SIZE:21, this version is especially well suited to medium-weight leather for everyday leather goods and saddlery work. A sewing thread in the range Nm 40/2 to Nm 20/2 is usually suitable; a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is recommended. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.
