The 854 SA STR needle (needle system 854 SA) has a Schiffli special point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in Schiffli embroidery machines. In size NM:100/SIZE:16, this version is especially well suited to standard embroidery on medium-weight fabrics. An embroidery thread in size No. 30 and heavier is usually suitable, e.g. Amann Isacord.Package contents: pack A100 with 100 needles
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
