The UY 128 GAS SES NIT needle (needle system UY 128 GAS) has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial overlock, coverstitch and safety-stitch machines for elastic knit fabrics. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Kingtex (classes CT, CTL, CTS, FT), Yamato (classes ACW, AFH, AHV, ARW) and Union Special (classes HF, LF, XF, 11500 G).
In size NM:65/SIZE:9, this version is especially well suited to fine, light jersey and tricot fabrics. A sewing thread in the range Nm 120/2 to Nm 80/2 (fine) is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
This needle also has a nickel-Teflon (NIT) coating: a special anti-adhesive coating with excellent sliding properties, high abrasion resistance and high corrosion resistance.
