CANU 37:90FB1 The 1280 KSP SUK needle (needle system 1280 KSP) has a medium ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial overlock, coverstitch and safety-stitch machines for elastic knit fabrics. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Kingtex (classes CT-4600-0-40M, CT-4603-0-40M, CT-4605-0-40M/RP, CT-4605-0-48M/RP), Kansai (classes BC-2000 C, BC-2000 PC, DLR-1502P, DLR-1502PMD) and Zoje (classes ZJ-2400A-140M-VF, ZJ-2400A-140M-VF-BD-D3, ZJ-2400A-148M-VF, ZJ-2400A-148M-VF-BD-D3).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for fine, light jersey and tricot fabrics, and the thicker versions for medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.

Item information	Value
NEEDLE SYSTEM:	1280 KSP UY 128 GAS UY 121 GJS
SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 37:90 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLEPOINT:	SUK/M BALL/SI - medium ball point Medium ball point needle. More rounded than the small ball point SES. Applications: - Medium to coarse denim materials - Coarse knitwear - Production of corsetry Highlight: Best needle for stonewashed and sandwashed jeans qualities, especially in thick needle sizes. Best needle for the production of corsetry, especially in thin needle sizes.
COATING:	CHROME Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
