The 133 SES needle (needle system 133) has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Maquinas de Coser Alfa (classes 105, 125, 127, 136), Pfaff (classes 112, 114 to 3MM ZIGZAG, 130, 133) and Textima (classes 8333).
In size NM:60/SIZE:8, this version is especially well suited to fine, light jersey and tricot fabrics. A sewing thread in the range Nm 120/2 to Nm 80/2 (fine) is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
