The 328 (R) needle (needle system 328) has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Dürkopp Adler (classes 069, 104, 105, 166), Singer (classes 45, 46, 47, 132) and Textima (classes 200, 211, 221, 223).
In size NM:200/SIZE:25, this version is especially well suited to very heavy, multi-layer materials such as webbing, tarpaulins and upholstery composites. A sewing thread in the range Nm 20/2 and heavier is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.
