Sewing machine needle MD 83 TOP SUK KK NM:100/SIZE:16 (100 needles)
The MD 83 TOP SUK KK needle (needle system MD 83) has a medium ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. The KK version has a short shank. It is used in Schiffli embroidery machines. The available needle sizes are used, among others, for standard embroidery on medium-weight fabrics. As embroidery thread, a size No. 60 to No. 30 thread matching the needle size chosen is usually recommended, e.g. Amann Isacord. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Medium ball point needle. More rounded than the small ball point SES. Applications:- Medium to coarse denim materials- Coarse knitwear- Production of corsetryHighlight:Best needle for stonewashed and sandwashed jeans qualities, especially in thick needle sizes.Best needle for the production of corsetry, especially in thin needle sizes.
Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
Short Piston The shorter piston of the KK variant is used in industrial sewing machines (often overlock, coverstitch, or specialized leather and buttonhole machines) where space on the needle bar is very limited. The shortened piston end allows for additional fabric thickness during the stroke in some machine classes. Since the distance from the piston end to the needle eye is identical in both variants, a 134 KK can be used in many standard machines instead of a regular 134. However, it usually doesn’t work the other way around!
