The needle of system SY 1965 has a medium ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Brother (classes LH4, LZ2, Z, ZE), Yamato (classes LG, LG - 2000 LW, LG - 2105 LE, LG - 2125 BDS-532) and Juki (classes LH, LZ, LZH, LH - 1152 A ALL CLASSES).
In size NM:100/SIZE:16, this version is especially well suited to medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. A sewing thread in the range Nm 50/2 to Nm 40/2 is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
