The needle of system EFX42 has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines, here mainly for technical applications such as the packaging industry rather than classic garment production. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Sanwa (classes EF, ME, MF, EF - 422 KL), Global (classes DT 422 KL, EF 423, EF 423 ALL CLASSES) and Inderle (classes IDL, IDL - 4 A).
The available needle sizes are used, among others, for firm, dense materials in the packaging industry. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.
