The needle of system 2077 has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines, here mainly for technical applications such as the upholstery industry and lifting, lashing and safety belts rather than classic garment production. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 16, 17, 43816, 21), Máquinas Spier (classes MB) and Spier (classes MB - 01 E).
The available needle sizes are used, among others, for very heavy, multi-layer materials such as webbing, tarpaulins and upholstery composites. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.
