CANU 37:90EB1 The 1280 KSP SES needle (needle system 1280 KSP) has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial overlock, coverstitch and safety-stitch machines for elastic knit fabrics. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Kingtex (classes CT-4600-0-40M, CT-4603-0-40M, CT-4605-0-40M/RP, CT-4605-0-48M/RP), Kansai (classes BC-2000 C, BC-2000 PC, DLR-1502P, DLR-1502PMD) and Zoje (classes ZJ-2400A-140M-VF, ZJ-2400A-140M-VF-BD-D3, ZJ-2400A-148M-VF, ZJ-2400A-148M-VF-BD-D3).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for fine, light jersey and tricot fabrics, and the thicker versions for medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.

SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 37:90 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLE FAMILY:	Multi-groove sewing machine needles for textiles
NEEDLEPOINT:	SES/L BALL/FFG/J Ball/SIN/NYR/BPL - Ball point small The small ball point displaces fabric and stitch catching; den, pierces directly into the gaps and thus avoids material damage. Applications: - Fine to medium knitwear - Light denim materials - Light, densely woven materials - Medium to heavy fabric - Laminated materials (textile/textile) Highlight: strong> Particularly suitable for jerseys and tricots.
COATING:	CHROME Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
