Sewing machine needle 1836 NM:110/SIZE:18 (10 needles)
The needle of system 1836 has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial embroidery machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Cornely (classes FBN, FD). Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for standard embroidery on medium-weight fabrics, and the thicker versions for dense embroidery on heavy fabrics such as denim, terry cloth or caps. As embroidery thread, a size No. 60 to No. 30 thread matching the needle size chosen is usually recommended, e.g. Amann Isacord.
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used. Applications: - Lightweight fabric - Coated materials; heavy woven materials such as Tarpaulins - Laminated materials with soft plastic or thin cardboard (cardboard) - Foils - Leather/Textile combinations
Until the end of 2020, the nickel-plated needle was the standard for household sewing machines. Since then, Schmetz has been gradually converting production to "chrome-plated", as has been standard for industrial needles for decades.
