OPTIMAT V-belts are pre-punched. No special perforating tools are therefore required for splicing. The short form of fixed connectors allows the belt the necessary freedom of movement and flexibility.
The plate connectors are pre-bent so that no damaging bending forces can occur in the plates, even with the maximum permissible curvature caused by the belt tension.
Flexible connectors are technically the better connection for the belts. Because plate connectors are subject to a point load (upper part in the joint), they are somewhat less flexible than articulated connectors.Articulated connectors are available for V-belts 10/6 mm and larger.
The low weight of the connectors reduces the occurrence of practical centrifugal forces when the pulley is rotating at high belt speeds. This ensures smooth, shock- and impact-free running.
