Cotton knit fabric

Cotton is a natural fiber from the seed head of the cotton plant. Cotton can be excellently spun and permanently dyed and has the dry handle typical of plant fibers. It is more abrasion-resistant than wool, which is one reason it is also widely used for upholstery fabrics. Cotton is also very tear-resistant and heat-resistant — it can be hot-ironed and steamed. It never builds up static electricity and can be easily brushed up, for example for flannel.
