The 2091 SES needle (needle system 175X7) has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Yamato (classes CB, CB - 513, CB - 515, CB - 516), Chandler (classes 710, 710 - 1-N, 710 - 1-S, 710 - 12) and Dürkopp Adler (classes 147, 247, 547, 566).
In size NM:100/SIZE:16, this version is especially well suited to medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. A sewing thread in the range Nm 50/2 to Nm 40/2 is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
