The needle of system 251 has a eccentric round point (tip above the eye) for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial chainstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 6, 7, 8, 9), US Blindstitch (classes 108 ALL CLASSES, 118 ALL CLASSES, 138 ALL CLASSES, 538 - 1-S) and US Blindstitch Machine Co. (classes 88, 89, 99, 108).
At strength NM:100/SIZE:16, this version is especially well suited to heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. A sewing thread in the range Nm 50/2 to Nm 40/2 is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant (polyester).
