The needle of system 137X1 has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial embroidery machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 114, 114 - B 103, 114 - E 103, 114 - K 103), Treasure (classes ES, ESA, ES - 1114 OTHER CLASS, ES - 11414-10 ALL CLASSES) and Taking (classes TK, TK - 111- 1 TO 111-3, TK - 111-10).
Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for standard embroidery on medium-weight fabrics, and the thicker versions for dense embroidery on heavy fabrics such as denim, terry cloth or caps. As embroidery thread, a size No. 60 to No. 30 thread matching the needle size chosen is usually recommended, e.g. Amann Isacord. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
