The needle of system 215 AH has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. In the SERV 7 version, it also offers increased needle stability for secure seams. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines, here mainly for technical applications such as vehicle interiors rather than classic garment production. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Mammut (classes 7, 722, 725, A 7) and Textima (classes 8345, 8345 - 44).
Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant (polyester).
