Description
Reviews

CANU 04:25 1 The Groz-Beckert needle 60 M, also known as 151X7, 151X5 and 60 MSD, is a curved needle with one flat on the shank. Its normal round point displaces the material gently. Application: overlock stitch (stitch type class 500). Recommended for medium-weight woven fabrics, garment leather and artificial leather, e.g. for jeans, workwear, suits, accessories, shoes, leather garments and upholstery covers. It fits, among others, machine classes from Paul Irmscher (classes A-D3B, A-Q, A-3DW, M), Irmscher (classes A-3DW, A-D3B, A-Q, M ALL CLASSES) and Mauser (classes S, SE, S - 2423-106 E-1,6, S - OTHER CLASS).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for medium-weight standard woven and knit fabrics for everyday garment production, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
NEEDLEPOINT:	R/SET - Round tip normal Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used. Applications: - Lightweight fabric - Coated materials; heavy woven materials such as Tarpaulins - Laminated materials with soft plastic or thin cardboard (cardboard) - Foils - Leather/Textile combinations
