The needle of system 794 has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines, here mainly for technical applications such as saddlery goods, lifting, lashing and safety belts and quilting rather than classic garment production. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Keestar (classes 204-1S, 204-3S, 204-3SA, 204-105), Dürkopp Adler (classes 020, 105, 120, 204) and Juki (classes AMS, TNU, TSC, TSH).
In size NM:250/SIZE:27, this version is especially well suited to very heavy, multi-layer materials such as webbing, tarpaulins and upholstery composites. A sewing thread in the range Nm 20/2 and heavier is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.
