The Groz-Beckert needle DCX1 FK is a straight needle with two long grooves and a scarf. Its normal round point displaces the material gently. Special features: flat on the shank at 180°. Application: overlock stitch (stitch type class 500). Recommended for woven fabrics and thin leather, e.g. for shirts, blouses and trousers.

The available needle sizes are used, among others, for medium-weight standard woven and knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
