CANU 45:30 1 The Groz-Beckert needle DNX1 is a straight needle with two long grooves and a scarf. Its normal round point displaces the material gently. Application: bag closing (stitch type class 100 / 400). Recommended for paper and polypropylene fabrics, e.g. for feed bags, transport bags and nets. It fits, among others, machine classes from Union Special (classes 1900, 14100 C, 51100 BP, 51300 B), New Long (classes DKN, DN, DS, F) and Singer (classes 92, 104, 131, 146).

The available needle sizes are used, among others, for firm, dense materials in the packaging industry. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.

COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
NEEDLEPOINT:	R/SET - Round tip normal Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used.
