The UY 113 GS TN needle (needle system UY 113 GS) has a normal round point for working woven and knit fabrics. It is used in industrial overlock, coverstitch and safety-stitch machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Rimoldi (classes 066, 264, 066 - 01 ALL CLASSES, 066 - 11- 09 TO 26), Renown (classes 22, 25, 26, 41) and Gemsy (classes GEM-1404, GEM-1404PL, GEM-1404PMD, GEM-1404PTV).
Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for medium-weight standard woven and knit fabrics for everyday garment production, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).
This needle also features a titanium nitride (TN) coating: it improves the needle's service life at higher stitch counts and reduces needle smearing. At Groz-Beckert, this coating is called GEBEDUR.
