CANU 20:05JL1 The 134 S needle (needle system 134) has a spade point for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Pfaff (classes 22, 28, 33905, 34), Juki (classes ACB, ACF, AEC, ALS) and Singer (classes 20, 61, 107, 108).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for thinner to medium-weight leather, and the thicker versions for very thick, firm leather and multi-layer leather joins. As sewing thread, a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is usually recommended, in a thickness matching the needle size chosen. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.

NEEDLE SYSTEM:	797 134 134 KK 797 KK 135X8 PFX134
SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 20:05 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLE FAMILY:	Sewing machine needles with cutting tips
NEEDLEPOINT:	S/SS/NCR/NRSP - spade point Cutting point with a lenticular incision. The incision is made in the direction of the seam. Result: Very straight seam line Materials: strong > Suitable for all types of leather Applications: - Shoe manufacture - Bags, suitcases, etc. with rough stitching - Belt and suspenders
COATING:	CHROME Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
STITCH TYPE:	Lockstitch
PISTON-Ø:	2.0 mm
LENGTH to the EYE:	33.9 mm
SPECIAL:	KK Short Piston The shorter piston of the KK variant is used in industrial sewing machines (often overlock, coverstitch, or specialized leather and buttonhole machines) where space on the needle bar is very limited. The shortened piston end allows for additional fabric thickness during the stroke in some machine classes. Since the distance from the piston end to the needle eye is identical in both variants, a 134 KK can be used in many standard machines instead of a regular 134. However, it usually doesn’t work the other way around!
TOTAL LENGTH:	37.9 - 40.1 mm
INDUSTRIES:	Footwear Luggage, bags and leather accessories
