CANU 27:55BA1 The Groz-Beckert needle 29-BB, also known as 1828 E and 29-6, is a curved needle, bent in the radius and sideways. Its slim, sharp round point, eccentric at 0°, displaces the material gently. Special features: flat on the shank at 270°. Application: blindstitch (stitch type class 100). Recommended for woven fabrics, e.g. for trousers and suits. It fits, among others, machine classes from J. Strobel & Söhne (classes 310, 313, 360, 3100), Strobel (classes 310 ALL CLASSES, 3100, 3100 - D, 313 ALL CLASSES) and Lewis (classes 30, 30 ALL CLASSES).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for medium-weight standard woven and knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

Item information	Value
COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
