CANU 24:10EB1 The Groz-Beckert needle UY 118 SAN 10 is a straight needle with two long grooves and a scarf. Its light ball point (FFG) displaces the material gently. Special features: notch in the shank. Version: SAN™ 10 for sewing fine knitted and woven fabrics. Application: flat seams (stitch type class 600). Recommended for fine knitted and woven fabrics that are delicate or critical to sew, e.g. for underwear, T-shirts, shirts, blouses and swimwear. It fits, among others, machine classes from Gemsy (classes GEM-5100-01P, GEM-5100-01T, GEM-5100-01W, GEM-5100-02F), Juki (classes MF, MO, 36200, 36200 - UE - 60) and Kingtex (classes FT -6760, FT-6760-0-52M, FT-6760-0-60M, FT-6760-0-64M).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for fine, light jersey and tricot fabrics, and the thicker versions for medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.

SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 24:10 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLE SYSTEM:	UY 118
COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
NEEDLEPOINT:	SES/L BALL/FFG/J Ball/SIN/NYR/BPL - Ball point small The small ball point displaces fabric and stitch catching; den, pierces directly into the gaps and thus avoids material damage. Applications: - Fine to medium knitwear - Light denim materials - Light, densely woven materials - Medium to heavy fabric - Laminated materials (textile/textile) Highlight: strong> Particularly suitable for jerseys and tricots.
SPECIAL:	SAN 10 Special application needle SAN 10 by Groz-Beckert for fine and delicate textiles. Its slim shape in the eye area displaces less material while the blade stays stable. Applications: - Underwear and lingerie - Sportswear - Fine knitted and woven fabrics Features: - Less mesh damage and seam puckering - Fewer skipped stitches and thread breaks - Sufficient stability against needle breakage - Thicker threads possible at the same needle size
