CANU 03:33 1 The Groz-Beckert needle DCX1, also known as 81X1, 82X1 and DMX1, is a straight needle with two long grooves and a scarf. Its slightly rounded round point (RG) displaces the material gently. Application: overlock stitch (stitch type class 500). Recommended for fine knitwear, woven fabrics and thin leather, e.g. for shirts, blouses and trousers. It fits, among others, machine classes from Yamato (classes 74 Series, 78 Series, ABH, ABW), Pegasus (classes A 31, DC, DCM, DCP) and Juki (classes AHC, BL, EF, ML).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for light, fine woven and knit fabrics such as blouse and shirt fabrics, and the thicker versions for heavy, multi-layer woven and knit fabrics as well as technical textiles. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

This needle, derived from the CANU 03:33, was developed in cooperation with the machine manufacturer Rimoldi (RIM-27 system), has a reinforced shaft and is equipped with a hump scarf to prevent skipped stitches.

COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
