Like the embroidery needle, the twin embroidery needle was developed specifically for embroidery threads, which are considerably more delicate than normal sewing thread. Thanks to its wider eye and wider scarf groove, the thread runs smoothly in every direction during decorative embroidery stitching, without thread breakage. This needle is also excellent for thicker threads.

Thanks to its medium ball points, the needle is especially gentle on materials, preventing damage to embroidery thread and fabric.

The twin embroidery needle is suitable for all common household sewing machines with a zigzag function.

Before sewing
Like other household needles, the twin embroidery needle is inserted into the needle bar with the flat side of the shank facing away from you. The needle plate and presser foot must have a recess large enough for the needle spacing and the selected stitch width.

Threading
Each of the two needles needs its own thread spool. If you don't have a second thread holder, use a bobbin for the second thread and place it below the spool holding the first thread. Make sure the bobbin and spool unwind in the same direction. You can use the same thread colour for both needles, or different colours for decorative effects.
Guide both needle threads together through your machine's thread guides as if they were one thread, then separate them and pass one thread through each needle eye. Some machines have a special way of separating the threads – if so, follow your machine's instruction manual.

Please note:
The automatic needle threader does not work with twin needles!

Tips
If your machine has a twin-needle mode or button, switch it on to limit the stitch width. This prevents the needle from hitting the needle plate and breaking.
Test the thread tension beforehand on some scrap fabric. Adjust the tension so the bobbin thread shows as a slight zigzag on the underside of the seam.
Sew a little more slowly over thick seam junctions to avoid needle breakage.
Do not push or pull the fabric while sewing – this can cause uneven stitch length and, in the worst case, needle breakage.
For a smooth, even seam you can apply spray starch before sewing, or use a water-soluble stabiliser while sewing.

NEEDLE SYSTEM:	130/705 H
SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 72:20 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems). CANU 72:30 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLEPOINT:	SES/L BALL/FFG/J Ball/SIN/NYR/BPL - Ball point small The small ball point displaces fabric and stitch catching; den, pierces directly into the gaps and thus avoids material damage. Applications: - Fine to medium knitwear - Light denim materials - Light, densely woven materials - Medium to heavy fabric - Laminated materials (textile/textile) Highlight: strong> Particularly suitable for jerseys and tricots.
COATING:	NICKEL or CHROME PLATED Until the end of 2020, the nickel-plated needle was the standard for household sewing machines. Since then, Schmetz has been gradually converting production to "chrome-plated", as has been standard for industrial needles for decades.
MATERIAL TYPE:	TISSUE Tissue is a textile fabric consisting of at least two thread systems, warp and weft, which cross each other at an angle of exactly or approximately 90° when viewed on the fabric surface. Each of the two systems can be made up of several types of warp or weft (e.g. basic, pile and filling warp / basic, binding and filling weft). The warp threads run in the longitudinal direction of the fabric, parallel to the edge of the fabric, and the weft threads run in the transverse direction, parallel to the edge of the fabric. The threads are mainly connected to the fabric by friction. In order for a fabric to be sufficiently non-slip, the warp and weft threads usually have to be woven relatively densely. That is why, with a few exceptions, the fabrics have a coherent appearance. To sew fabric, positive displacement needles are always used and never a cutting point. KNIT/MESH WEAR Knitwear refers to textiles in which a loop formed by a thread is looped into another loop. The resulting meshes can be formed using one thread or multiple threads. This distinguishes knitted goods from woven fabrics, in which the surface is produced by crossing two thread systems, and also from nonwovens, in which a loose fibrous web is bonded, for example by heat. Compared to woven fabrics, knitted fabrics are characterized by higher stretchability, elasticity and, as a result, less creasing. When it comes to knitwear, a distinction is made between knitwear and warp-knitted fabrics. Knitwear is produced using single-thread technology (knitted fabrics and warp-knitted fabrics) or warp-thread technology (multi-threaded warp-knitted fabrics and warp-knitted fabrics). To sew knitwear, needles with displacement points are always used and never a cutting point.
MATERIAL:	effect threads Effect threads have pronounced areas of uneven appearance on their surface, which create decorative effects on the fabric or knitwear. These effects can be achieved on the thread during spinning, twisting, dyeing, printing, or through combinations thereof. The most commonly used effect yarns or twist yarns include: bouclé yarns and lurex (tinsel) threads. embroider Embroidery is a textile technique in which a base material (fabric, leather, paper) is decorated by drawing threads through it or sewing them onto it. There is a wide variety of embroidery techniques.
