The needle of system 2018 has a large round point for button sewing for working buttons. It is specifically designed for industrial button-sewing machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 175, 175 - 63, 175 - G 63, 175 - SV 17), Chandler (classes 548, 552, 554, 555) and Adamson (classes 141, 552, 600, BSO).
At strength NM:125/SIZE:20, this version is especially well suited to large, multi-hole buttons on heavy coat and jacket fabrics. A sewing thread in the range Nm 40/2 to Nm 20/2 is usually suitable; a heavy-duty button thread, e.g. Amann Serafil 20 is recommended. The large, sturdy point reliably pierces both the fabric and the button holes.
