The Groz-Beckert needle 328 KSP is a straight needle with one long groove and a scarf. Its normal round point displaces the material gently. Application: double lockstitch (stitch type class 300). Recommended for heavy woven fabrics, technical textiles and thick leather, e.g. for straps, floor mats, cardboard packaging and transport bags.

The available needle sizes are used, among others, for very heavy, multi-layer materials such as webbing, tarpaulins and upholstery composites. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton).

COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
NEEDLEPOINT:	R/SET - Round tip normal Tip with a pointed conical bevel. The normal round tip is the standard tip shape. With household needles this tip shape is used for the needles known as universal needles most of the time no top suffix «R» is used. Applications: - Lightweight fabric - Coated materials; heavy woven materials such as Tarpaulins - Laminated materials with soft plastic or thin cardboard (cardboard) - Foils - Leather/Textile combinations
SPECIAL:	KSP KSP (Chain Stitch Point / Special Point Design): This refers to an optimized shaft and groove geometry. The needle has a deeper groove (kick-up) above the eye. It was developed specifically for chain-stitch machines so that the hook can grasp the thread loop extremely securely. KSP needles prevent skipped stitches during difficult transitions, thick seams, or when sewing elastic materials.
