CANU 50:10AX1 The Groz-Beckert needle 328, also known as 214X2 R TW and DDX2, is a straight needle with one long groove and a scarf. Its right-cutting point (LR) cuts the material cleanly. Application: double lockstitch (stitch type class 300). Recommended for thick leather, e.g. for car seats and upholstery. It fits, among others, machine classes from Dürkopp Adler (classes 069, 104, 105, 166), Singer (classes 45, 46, 47, 132) and Textima (classes 200, 211, 221, 223).

Thinner needle sizes are used, among others, for medium-weight leather for everyday leather goods and saddlery work, and the thicker versions for very thick, firm leather and multi-layer leather joins. As sewing thread, a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is usually recommended, in a thickness matching the needle size chosen. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.

SCHMETZ CANU:	CANU 50:10 CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
NEEDLE SYSTEM:	328 214X2 DDX2 SY 4961 (SINGER)
COATING:	CHROME / DUR Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At GROTZ-BECKERT, the comparable chrome coating is being gradually replaced by the more environmentally friendly “DUR” process. The technology used to apply this DUR chrome coating has undergone a fundamental overhaul. The new process is significantly more environmentally friendly and conserves resources. The dur™ technology provides even better wear protection—especially directly at the needle tip—as well as optimized sliding properties. Compared to conventionally chrome-plated needles, the DUR-coated needles appear slightly more matte (particularly visible on the needle piston).
NEEDLEPOINT:	LR/LRS/NRTW - Cutting point right cutting 45° Cutting point with a lenticular incision. The incision is made at a 45 ° angle to the direction of the seam. Result: Decorative seam slightly inclined to the left Materials: Suitable for all types of leather Applications: - Clothing - Shoe manufacture - bags, suitcases Highlight: Best needle for decorative seams.
