The DBX1 SUK needle (needle system 287 WH) has a medium ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines for everyday garment and textile manufacturing. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Singer (classes 14, 16, 17, 31), Juki (classes ACF, ADU, AEC, AFU) and Brother (classes B 746 -5A, B 746 -7A, B 746 -8A, BAS).
In size NM:90/SIZE:14, this version is especially well suited to medium-weight knit fabrics for everyday garment production. A sewing thread in the range Nm 80/2 to Nm 50/2 is usually suitable, e.g. from Amann Serafil or Rasant; for very stretchy seams, a texturised thread also works well. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
