The DBXK5 SES TN needle (needle system DBXK5) has a small ball point for working knit fabrics, without damaging the loops. It is used in industrial embroidery machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Brother (classes BAS, BAS -401, BAS -410, BAS -411), Tajima (classes MLHII, TEHX, TEJT, TFGN) and ZSK (classes 169, 172 to 175, 201 to 224, J).
In size NM:65/SIZE:9, this version is especially well suited to fine embroidery on light fabrics. An embroidery thread in size No. 60 to No. 40 is usually suitable, e.g. Amann Isacord. The ball point glides between the loops instead of piercing them, keeping the seam clean and undamaged.
This needle also features a titanium nitride (TN) coating: it improves the needle's service life at higher stitch counts and reduces needle smearing. At Groz-Beckert, this coating is called GEBEDUR.
