How do you find the right needle for your sewing machine?
By using our filters, you're sure to find the right needles.
- It makes sense to first look for the needle system that fits your machine.
You’ll find the designation for your compatible “needle system” on the label on your machine or in the instruction manual.
If you’ve already used SCHMETZ needles, you’ll find the CANU on their packaging—using the correct CANU is the fastest way to find your needles.
- Then make your selection based on the desired tip shape.
The fabric largely determines the tip shape—as a professional user, you know the differences, or feel free to ask us.
The needle gauge is specified in 1/100 millimeters. Example: NM80 = 0.8 mm or NM100 = 1.0 mm. You’ll also find SINGER designations such as 12, which corresponds to NM80. In such cases, we write NM:80/SIZE:12.
The width of the needle eye is normally 40% of the needle diameter.
Packaging: Manufacturers change the type of packaging from time to time. This particularly affects boxes and envelopes. We therefore supply you with whatever units are currently available containing the number of needles you ordered.
