The UY 943 GS needle (needle system DNX1) has a square point for working firm, dense materials. It is used in industrial chainstitch and general-purpose sewing machines, here mainly for technical applications such as the packaging industry rather than classic garment production. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Union Special (classes 1900, 14100 C, 51100 BP, 51300 B), New Long (classes DKN, DN, DS, F) and Singer (classes 92, 104, 131, 146).
The available needle sizes are used, among others, for firm, dense materials in the packaging industry. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.
