Voile
(French = veil)
Light, plain-woven, grid-like, round-set fabric made of smooth, highly twisted yarns (fibre-free, gassed, singed).
Full voile consists of voile twist yarns in both warp and weft, while in half voile only the warp is made of voile twist yarn and the weft of voile yarn. Voile imitation has voile yarn in both warp and weft. Silk voile is a warp rib with a dense silk warp and cotton weft. Voile is also produced brocaded and embroidered.

- Voile-ondulé, voile woven with a reed that has partly slanted dents. Raising and lowering the reed creates wave-like shifted warp thread layers in the fabric.
