dur needles from Groz-Beckert are equipped with a chrome coating. The chrome coating is applied using a new coating process that is kinder to the environment. The surface is more matte compared to conventional chrome needles. The difference in colour is particularly noticeable in the shank area. The new coating method gives the dur needle even greater wear protection, especially in the point area.

The dur coating will gradually replace the standard chrome coating. This is why the dur needle carries no suffix in the product name. You can recognize dur needles by the "dur" imprint on the packaging label. This coating corresponds to the standard chrome coating (CHROM) at Schmetz.
