The needle of system 29-LSS has a large round point for button sewing for working buttons. It is specifically designed for industrial button-sewing machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Lewis (classes 200-28, 200-6), Singer (classes 175, 175 - 31 TO 39, 175 - 45 TO 46) and Union Special (classes 200 -6 bis -10, -21, -22, 200 -6 TO -10, -21, -22).
At strength NM:125/SIZE:20, this version is especially well suited to large, multi-hole buttons on heavy coat and jacket fabrics. A sewing thread in the range Nm 40/2 to Nm 20/2 is usually suitable; a heavy-duty button thread, e.g. Amann Serafil 20 is recommended. The large, sturdy point reliably pierces both the fabric and the button holes.
