Sewing machine needle 1001 EO NM:280/SIZE:28 (10 needles)
The 1001 EO needle (needle system 1001) has an acute round point for working woven and knit fabrics. This version's narrow eye (EO) provides greater loop security. It is used in industrial lockstitch and general-purpose sewing machines. Suitable machine classes are found, among others, at Dürkopp Adler (classes 020). The available needle sizes are used, among others, for very heavy, multi-layer materials such as webbing, tarpaulins and upholstery composites. As sewing thread, a matching thickness is usually recommended depending on the needle size chosen, e.g. from Amann Serafil (polyester) or Rasant (polyester/cotton); for heavy-duty use, a bonded nylon thread.
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Needle with a very slim, pointed tip. Enables precise piercing of tightly woven and coated materials. Produces a clean, flawless seam appearance and minimizes seam puckering.Applications:- Very densely woven material such as microfibre and silk- Thin, coated materials- Thin, smooth materials such as e.g. Taffeta- quilting seams for shirt processing (shirt collar, cuffs, front strips)- elastomer threads not braided- manufacture of furs and skins
Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
Provides greater loop security.
