Sewing machine needle 135x4 NW | 135X2 DL NM:90/SIZE:14 (100 needles)
The 135x4 NW needle (needle system 135X2) has a pearl point for working leather, synthetic leather and other coated materials – never for woven fabric, since the cutting action would sever the weave threads. It is used in industrial sewing machines for leather and synthetic-leather work, where the cutting point produces a clean puncture. The available needle sizes are used, among others, for thinner to medium-weight leather. As sewing thread, a bonded polyester or nylon thread such as Amann Serabond, Amann Strongbond or Coats Dabond is usually recommended, in a thickness matching the needle size chosen. A cutting point is required here to create clean puncture channels in firm materials.
CANU is the abbreviation for "Catalog Number" and represents the system developed by the German needle manufacturer SCHMETZ and used worldwide today for the summary and identification of the same sewing machine needles, which have various designations specific to the sewing machine manufacturer (needle systems).
Wide Cutting point with a lenticular incision. The incision is made across the direction of the seam. Result: Seam with high strength Materials: Suitable for all types of leather Applications: - Shoe manufacture - Bags, suitcases, accessories Highlight: The SCHMETZ cordage ensures that the thread is laid out of the sewing material in the laterally tapering tip groove when the needle is lifted upwards, so that it is no longer pulled over the edge of the groove, eye edge or cutting edge and is not damaged . «CL»: Tip groove tapering to the left for hooks positioned to the right of the needle. «CR»: Point groove tapering to the right for hooks positioned to the left of the needle. It is used in particular as a left needle in a two-needle machine.
Until the end of 2020, the nickel-plated needle was the standard for household sewing machines. Since then, Schmetz has been gradually converting production to "chrome-plated", as has been standard for industrial needles for decades.
