CHROME
Needles with a normal chrome coating can be recognized by their shiny silver surface. The chrome coating provides protection against wear and corrosion. The surface is smooth and protects the material and the thread. Chrome needles can be used for all standard applications. Compared to nickel-plated needles, chrome-plated needles improve the service life of the needle at higher stitch counts. At Groz-Beckert, the equivalent chrome coating is being gradually replaced by their more environmentally friendly "dur" process.
The special version 134-35 CRCL SERV 7 has a standard round point and is versatile for industrial garment manufacturing. Its special features include the reinforced blade (SERV 7) and a hump scarf, which help prevent missed stitches and reduce needle breakage.
This special industrial sewing machine needle, featuring an extremely deep, specially shaped scarf and an asymmetrical thread channel, is designed to prevent skipped stitches and thread breaks during rapid changes in direction (e.g., on computer-controlled embroidery machines or multi-directional sewing machines), as the thread remains optimally protected in every direction of movement.
